The control means 50 controls the exposure means 16 to expose non-image parts of an electrostatic image on the photoreceptor 1. The control means 50 controls to increase a first amount of exposure performed by the exposure means 16 to a first non-image part located between an image part and an image part and having a length equal to or less than a predetermined length compared with a second amount of exposure performed by the exposure means 16 to a second non-image part different from the first non-image part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
