PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road surface inspecting apparatus for inspecting a road surface by using an inexpensive and simple method.SOLUTION: A road surface inspecting apparatus comprises: an image acquisition unit for acquiring an image of an area including a recess 50 formed on a road surface 90, on the road surface 90 of a road irradiated with light from a light source 110; a detector for detecting a position of a boundary between the road surface 90 and the recess 50 in the image; a measurement unit for measuring the length IR of a shadow 58 casted on the recess 50 with light in the image; and an estimation unit for estimating a depth x of the recess 50, on the basis of a positional relation between the light source 110 and the position of the boundary in the image and on the length IR of the shadow 58 in the image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】安価で容易な方法で路面を検査する路面検査装置を提供する。【解決手段】光源１１０から光が照射された道路の路面９０における、路面９０に形成された窪み５０を含む領域を撮像した画像を取得する画像取得部と、画像において、路面９０と窪み５０との境界の位置を検出する検出部と、画像において、光により窪み５０に映った影５８の長さＩＲを測定する測定部と、画像における、光源１１０と境界の位置との位置関係、及び、画像における影５８の長さＩＲに基づいて、窪み５０の深さｘを推定する推定部とを備える。【選択図】図６
