Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission for vehicle capable of reducing a dimension in a height direction of an automatic transmission to improve mountability to a vehicle.SOLUTION: An automatic transmission 2 is configured such that in a housing 36, provided is an opening part into which a control lever 34A is inserted; and a shift-and-select shaft 34 is arranged above an input shaft and a counter shaft so as to extend in a direction orthogonal to the input shaft. A shift unit 35 is attached to a side wall 2a of a transmission case 2 so that an axial end part of the shift-and-select shaft 34 and the control lever 34A are inserted into the opening part of the housing 36.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】自動変速機の高さ方向の寸法を小さくして、車両に対する搭載性を向上できる車両用自動変速機を提供する。【解決手段】自動変速機２によれば、筐体３６に、操作レバー３４Ａが挿入される開口部が設けられており、シフトアンドセレクト軸３４が、入力軸およびカウンタ軸の上方で、入力軸に対して直交する方向に延びるように配置されている。シフトアンドセレクト軸３４の軸線方向端部および操作レバー３４Ａが筐体３６の開口部に挿入されるようにシフトユニット３５が変速機ケース２Ａの側壁２ａに取付けられている。【選択図】図１
