Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spline telescopic shaft having high assemblability in assembling and capable of suppressing hammering in use.SOLUTION: A spline telescopic shaft (first column shaft 11) includes a male shaft 14 and a female shaft 13. The male shaft 14 includes a first male spline tooth 42, and a second male spline tooth 43. The first male spline tooth 42 includes tooth surfaces 71, 72 engaged with a male spline tooth 52 adjacent thereto in a circumferential direction Y, in a state of free from backlash, and a back surfaces 71B, 72B disposed at a side opposite to the tooth surfaces 71, 72 and facing a clearance space S in the circumferential direction Y. The second spline tooth 43 is engaged with the female spline tooth 52 adjacent thereto in the circumferential direction Y with backlash.
