Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device that improves fuel economy performance by appropriately performing coasting control when performing the coasting control during auto cruising.SOLUTION: A vehicle 1 is equipped with a transmission comprising a plurality of friction fastener elements for interrupting transmission of power between an engine and driving wheels, fuel control means for controlling fuel supply to the engine, and auto cruise control means. The auto cruise control means, when an inter-vehicle distance between a preceding vehicle and a subject vehicle is within a prescribed distance during executing following travel control, performs coasting control so that transmission of power between the engine and the driving wheels is interrupted and fuel supply is stopped; and when accelerating the vehicle 1 during executing target vehicle speed control, performs target fuel economy efficiency control in consideration of fuel efficiency characteristics of the engine, so as to improve fuel economy performance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】コースティング制御をオートクルーズ制御中に行う場合に、コースティング制御を適切に行うことで燃費性能を向上させる。【解決手段】エンジンと駆動輪との間の動力を遮断するための複数の摩擦締結要素を備えた変速機と、エンジンへの燃料供給を制御する燃料制御手段と、オートクルーズ制御手段が備えられた車両において、前記オートクルーズ制御手段は、追従走行制御の実行中において、先行車両との車間距離が所定範囲内にあるとき、エンジンと駆動輪との動力伝達を遮断するとともに燃料供給を停止するコースティング制御を実行し、目標車速制御の実行中において、車両1を加速するときに、エンジンの燃費率特性を考慮した目標燃費率制御を実施することで燃費性能を向上する。【選択図】図5
