Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for forming a complicated design having a plurality of line drawings of different contrasts by an easy process.SOLUTION: A magnetic orientation design medium manufacturing method comprises: a magnetic orientation layer forming step of forming an uncured magnetic orientation layer containing a magnetic anisotropic pigment on a substrate; an orientation step of orienting the pigment; and a curing step of curing the magnetic orientation layer after the orientation to obtain an orientation-fixing layer. The orientation step is carried out with the substrate layered on a magnetic plate. The magnetic plate comprises, in a thickness direction, a first region having a first pattern made of a magnetic material and a nonmagnetic material, a magnetic material, and a nonmagnetic material.
