Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber improved in assembly property in manufacturing, and to provide a method for manufacturing the shock absorber.SOLUTION: A shock absorber includes a positioning plate 41 attached to a cylinder 2 for coaxially positioning the cylinder 2 relative to an external cylinder 3 when the cylinder 2 is assembled to the external cylinder 3. Accordingly, when a rod guide 8 is assembled thereafter, the rod guide 8 can be readily fitted to the cylinder 2 and the external cylinder 3 because the cylinder 2 is coaxially positioned (fixed) relative to the external cylinder 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】製造時における組付け性を向上させた緩衝器及び当該緩衝器の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】シリンダ２を外筒３に組み付けることで、シリンダ２に装着された位置決めプレート４１によりシリンダ２が外筒３に対して同軸に位置決めされる。これにより、その後のロッドガイド８の組み付け時に、シリンダ２が外筒３に対して同軸に位置決め（固定）されているので、ロッドガイド８をシリンダ２及び外筒３に容易に嵌合させることができる。【選択図】図２
