Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device and an image recording method capable of preventing reduction of image quality, and suppressing an increase in humidity within a waveguide pipe.SOLUTION: An image recording device comprises: a head part 4 for discharging an ink to a substrate 2; a drying part 5 for emitting an electromagnetic wave to the ink on the substrate 2 and heating the ink; a gas supply part 61 for supplying a gas to the drying part; a gas suction part 65 for sucking the gas from the drying part 5; and a flow rate control part 89 for controlling a gas flow rate of a gas to be supplied or sucked by at least one of the gas supply part 61 and the gas suction part 65.
