Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color/monochrome switchable image pick-up device capable of switching between color imaging and monochrome imaging while preventing degradation of sensitivity when monochrome imaging with improved resolution, and an imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: The color/monochrome switchable image pick-up device and the imaging apparatus include a mosaic electrochromic element in which plural color electrochromic elements are two-dimensionally disposed at the object side of the image pick-up device. When the mosaic electrochromic element electrically driven, the mosaic electrochromic element changes between the color state and a transparent state. With this, the mosaic electrochromic element can be switched between a color imaging state and a monochrome imaging state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】カラー撮影とモノクロ撮影を切り替えることができ、モノクロ撮影時の感度の低下を防止し、解像度の向上を可能にしたカラーとモノクロ切り替え撮像素子、及び撮像装置を提供すること。【解決手段】カラーとモノクロ切り替え撮像素子、及び撮像装置は、複数の色のエレクトロクロミック素子を２次元状に配置したモザイクエレクトロクロミック素子を撮像素子の物体側に配置し、前期モザイクエレクトロクロミック素子を電気的に駆動することで、色付き状態と透明状態を変移させて、カラー撮影状態とモノクロ撮影状態を切り替えられることを特徴とする。【選択図】図１
