PRINTER, CONTROL METHOD AND PROGRAM DEVICE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can perform direct printing via the wireless LAN while ensuring security without requiring complicated wireless LAN setting by a user.SOLUTION: A printer includes: setting means which sets an access point mode that operates as an access point with prescribed authentication information for wireless LAN connection, and performs wireless LAN connection with a device storing the prescribed authentication information without communication with the printer; authentication means which performs authentication to an image processing device requesting connection via the wireless LAN on the basis of the prescribed authentication information stored in advance in the printer when the access point mode is set by the setting means; storage means which stores identification information for identifying the image processing device relevant to the request of connection that has succeeded in authentication by the authentication means; and control means which controls establishment of the new communication via the wireless LAN when the image processing device is connected in the access point mode on the basis of the identification information stored by the storage means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 【課題】ユーザによる煩雑な無線ＬＡＮ設定なく、セキュリティーを確保しつつ、無線ＬＡＮ経由のダイレクト印刷ができる印刷装置を提供する。【解決手段】無線ＬＡＮ接続のための所定の認証情報によりアクセスポイントとして動作し、印刷装置と通信せずに所定の認証情報を記憶している装置との無線ＬＡＮ接続を行うアクセスポイントモードを設定する設定手段と、設定手段によりアクセスポイントモードが設定されている場合に、無線ＬＡＮによる接続の要求を行った画像処理装置に対する認証を印刷装置に予め記憶されている所定の認証情報に基づいて行う認証手段と、認証手段による認証に成功した、接続の要求に係る画像処理装置を識別する識別情報を記憶する記憶手段と、記憶手段により記憶された識別情報に基づいて、画像処理装置がアクセスポイントモードにおいて接続されているときの、無線ＬＡＮによる新たな通信の確立を制御する制御手段とを備える。【選択図】図９
