OBJECT DETECTOR AND OBJECT DETECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detector with which it is possible to suppress misdetection of an object due to effects of an environment change around a mobile entity.SOLUTION: A vehicle 30 as a mobile entity includes a plurality of ultrasonic sensors 20 for sending a survey wave and receiving the reflected wave of the survey wave. An ECU 10 comprises an object detection unit 11 for detecting an object by direct waves and indirect waves received by the ultrasonic sensors 20, and a temperature change detection unit 12 for detecting a prescribed temperature change state that a temperature change greater than or equal to a prescribed value has occurred or is likely to occur in the ambient temperature of the mobile entity.
