Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst composition for producing a sugar condensate that can be applied to food and drink.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a catalyst composition for sugar condensation reaction containing active carbon as a catalyst component, wherein, a sugar condensation reaction occurs at 100°C-300°C in the presence of an active carbon catalyst, by which process, a sugar condensate is produced that has a low degree of pigmentation and shows high indigestibility with a dietary fiber content of 30 wt.% or more.
