The optical module 100 comprises a temperature monitor section 112 for measuring temperature in the optical module for every predetermined period, a setting value table 111 in which correspondence between the temperature and setting data for making modulation of the optical modulator 102 a constant operating point is stored, a CPU 106 for obtaining the setting data for every predetermined period to set the same in the optical modulator 102, and an operating point voltage prediction unit 107, which is started when processing in the CPU 106 stops, for reading the setting date corresponding to the temperature measured by the temperature monitor section 112 from the setting value table 111 and setting the read setting data to the optical modulator 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
