PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an unexpected restart of an engine by a simple constitution without imparting an incongruity to an occupant.SOLUTION: There is arranged brake fluid pressure detection means SN6 for detecting the fluid pressure of a brake fluid supplied to a brake force impartment part 118, an output of an engine 1 is changed on the basis of an operation amount of an accelerator pedal 120, and a traveling mode is switched to a normal traveling mode for changing the fluid pressure of the brake fluid on the basis of an operation amount of a brake pedal 111, and a following traveling mode for controlling an output of the engine and the fluid pressure of the brake fluid irrespective of the operation amount of the accelerator pedal 120 and the operation amount of the brake pedal 111. It is determined whether or not to permit an automatic stop of the engine on the basis of the fluid pressure of the brake fluid which is detected by the brake fluid pressure detection means SN6 in either of the traveling modes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】乗員に違和感を与えることなく簡単な構成で予期せぬエンジンの再始動を抑制する。【解決手段】制動力付与部１１８に供給されるブレーキ液の液圧を検出するブレーキ液圧検出手段ＳＮ６を設け、アクセルペダル１２０の操作量に基づいてエンジン１の出力を変更し、かつ、ブレーキペダル１１１の操作量に基づいてブレーキ液の液圧を変更する通常走行モードと、アクセルペダル１２０の操作量およびブレーキペダル１１１の操作量によらず前方車両に追従するようにエンジンの出力とブレーキ液の液圧を変更する追従走行モードとに、走行モードを切替可能にするとともに、いずれの走行モードにおいても、ブレーキ液圧検出手段ＳＮ６で検出されたブレーキ液の液圧に基づいて、エンジンの自動停止を許容するか否かを判定する。【選択図】図５
