PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine including a combustion chamber structure that increases turbulent energy of a combustion chamber.SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 1 includes the combustion chamber 10 constituted of a piston 2, a cylinder liner 3, and a cylinder head 4. The cylinder head 4 includes a roof surface 40 having an intake hole 46 that is opened and closed by an intake valve 6b and an exhaust hole 47 that is opened and closed by an exhaust valve 7b.
