Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boring tool which is practical in boring a hole.SOLUTION: A tool has a steel main body 10 which has a cutting edge 14 on an outer peripheral part and is formed in a cylindrical shape, and bores an inner peripheral surface IS of a hole by the cutting edge while abutting on at least a part of an outer peripheral surface OS of the main body. A coating of a carbide substance is arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the main body. The main body is formed of steel, and means for forming the coating of the carbide substance on the outer peripheral surface of the main body is adopted as means for preventing wear of the main body. Therefore, even when the main body has a relatively large diameter, manufacturing cost of the tool itself can be suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】 穴のボーリング加工を行う際に実用的なボーリング工具を提供する。【解決手段】 外周部に切れ刃14が設けられて円筒状をなす鋼製の本体10を有し、本体の外周面OSの少なくとも一部を当接させつつ切れ刃によって穴の内周面ISのボーリング加工を行うための工具において、本体の外周面に、超硬物質の皮膜を設ける。本体を鋼製のものとし、本体の磨耗を防止するためのの手段として、その本体の外周面に超硬物質の皮膜を形成するという手段を採用しているため、比較的大径の本体を有する場合であっても、工具自体の製造コストを抑えることが可能である。。【選択図】 図2
