Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly segment an image of an original even when a concentration of an edge part of the original is either a low concentration or a high concentration.SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus comprises: an original reading part that collectively reads an image of an original by collectively scanning a plurality of originals mounted on an original platen; a segmentation part that segments the image of original from a whole reading region to be read by collective scanning; an image output part that outputs the image of segmented original; and a control part that controls the original reading part, the segmentation part, and the image output part. The control part can switchably execute an inversion multi-crop processing that determines a segmentation region on the basis of a concentration difference of both of an image concentration of an edge part of the original and a concentration of an original external reading region under the condition the concentration of image is higher than that of the original external reading region and a non-inversion multi-crop processing that determines the segmentation region on the basis of the concentration difference of both of the image concentration of the edge part of the original and the concentration of the original external reading region under the condition the concentration of image is lower than that of the original external reading region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】原稿の縁部の濃度が低濃度、高濃度のいずれであっても原稿の画像を適切に切り出す。【解決手段】原稿台に置かれた複数の原稿を一括走査して各原稿の画像を一括して読み取る原稿読取部と、前記一括走査で読み取られる読取領域全体から各原稿の画像を切り出す切り出し部と、切り出された各原稿の画像を出力する画像出力部と、原稿読取部、切り出し部および画像出力部を制御する制御部とを備え、制御部は、各原稿の縁部の画像濃度が原稿外読取領域の濃度より高いものとして両者の濃度差に基づき切出し領域を決定する反転マルチクロップ処理と、各原稿の縁部の画像濃度が原稿外読取領域の濃度より低いものとして両者の濃度差に基づき切出し領域を決定する非反転マルチクロップ処理とを切り換えて実行可能である画像読取装置。【選択図】図2
