Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transportation unit capable of reducing the possibility that even sheets having narrow widths are transported with multi feeding just as it is.SOLUTION: A sheet transportation unit comprises: a sheet support 13 set with sheets P; a transportation section transporting the sheets P set onto the sheet support 13; a first edge guide 17A capable of guiding ends of the sheets P; a multi feeding sensor 47 detecting multi feeding of the sheets P by receiving an ultrasonic wave transmitted from a transmitting section by a receiving section 47B; and a shutter section 48 capable of shielding at least a part of the ultrasonic wave. The first edge guide 17A is movable in a width direction X, and has a first guide surface 17Aa guiding the sheets P. The shutter section 48 is moved in operative association with movement of the first edge guide 17A, and is positioned at a position across an extension line and shields the ultrasonic wave when the extension line obtained by extending the first guide surface 17Aa in a transportation direction Y intersects with the multi feeding sensor 47.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】幅の狭い用紙でも重送のまま搬送してしまう虞を低減できる用紙搬送装置を提供する。【解決手段】用紙Pをセットする用紙サポート13と、用紙サポート13にセットされた用紙Pを搬送する搬送部と、用紙Pの端をガイド可能な第1エッジガイド17Aと、発信部から発信した超音波を受信部47Bで受信することで用紙Pの重送を検出する重送センサー47と、超音波の少なくとも一部を遮ることができるシャッター部48とを備え、第1エッジガイド17Aは、幅方向Xに移動可能とされ、用紙Pをガイドする第1ガイド面17Aaを有し、シャッター部48は、第1エッジガイド17Aの移動と連動して移動し、第1ガイド面17Aaを搬送方向Yに延長した延長線と重送センサー47とが交差する場合に、延長線を跨ぐ位置に位置して超音波を遮る。【選択図】図3
