Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media handling apparatus having a simple structure capable of preventing user's hand being pinched by a shutter at a receiving and discharging part.SOLUTION: The media handling apparatus includes: a receiving and discharging section that takes in media which are fed by a user and discharges the media to the user; a placement part disposed in the receiving and discharging section for placing the media; a detection section that detects the media placed the placement part; and a control unit that controls the placement part. When the detection section detects that the media are placed on the placement part, the control unit gives an instruction to the placement part to perform an uprising operation for guiding the user to retreat the hand.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 21 【課題】取込排出部の構成をシンプルにしつつ、利用者の手がシャッタで挟まれることを避けることができる媒体取扱装置を提供する。【解決手段】利用者から投入された媒体を取込み、又は、前記利用者へ前記媒体を排出する取込排出部と、前記取込排出部内に設けられ、前記媒体が載置される載置部と、前記載置部に前記媒体が載置されたことを検知する検知部と、前記載置部を制御する制御部と、を備え、前記制御部は、前記検知部が前記載置部に前記媒体が載置されたことを検知した際には、前記載置部に、前記利用者に対して手の退避を誘導するための上昇動作を指示する、媒体取扱装置を提供する。【選択図】図２１
