Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibrator which can be expected to offer an energy trap effect higher than that achieved by conventional one.SOLUTION: A quartz vibrator 1 comprises: a quartz crystal substrate 14 having a first principal face 11 and a second principal face 12, which are in such a relation that they form a pair of front and rear sides respectively, and a connection part 13 connecting between the first principal face 11 and the second principal face 12; excitation electrodes 15, 16 provided on the first principal face 11 and the second principal face 12; and a plurality of convex parts 17 provided in the connection part 13 between the excitation electrode 16 and an outer edge 14a of the quartz crystal substrate 14. The plurality of convex parts 17 protrude on the side of at least one principal face (herein, the second principal face 12) of the first principal face 11 and the second principal face 12. The convex part 17 closer to the outer edge 14a has an apex portion 17a closer to the other principal face (herein, the first principal face 11) on a side opposite to the protruding side. In the plurality of convex parts 17, the bottom part 17b connecting adjacent convex parts 17, which is located closer to the outer edge 14a is arranged to be closer to the other principal face (herein, the first principal face 11).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
