IMAGING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of indicating a rotation direction and a rotation amount required for focusing of focus adjustment rotation operation member in a visible and comprehensible manner depending on an edge direction of a subject.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 100 has a focusing ring used for adjusting the focus. A subject information extraction section 107 included in the imaging apparatus 100 extracts the edge direction of the subject. An image processing section 105 generates a split image which represents a rotation direction and a rotation amount of the focusing ring necessary for focusing corresponding to the edge direction of the subject.
