PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a license number recognition system including a photographing device that can be installed at low cost in a short time without requiring line construction or power supply construction in the case of recognizing information, i.e. a license number, described on a license plate of a vehicle such as an automobile.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM: A license number recognition system includes: an image photographing device including a photographing unit for taking an image for license number recognition, a radio communication unit for transmitting the image via a radio channel, and a solar battery for supplying power to the photographing unit and the radio communication unit; and a license number recognition control device for recognizing a license number from the image for license number recognition transmitted by the image photographing device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】自動車などの車両のナンバープレートに記載された情報（車番）を認識する場合において、回線工事や電源工事を必要とせずに、短時間で、低コストに設置が可能な撮影装置を含む車番認識システムを提供すること。【解決方法】車番認識システムであって、車番認識のための画像を撮影する撮影部と、その画像を無線回線で伝送する無線通信部と、撮影部及び無線通信部に電力を供給する太陽電池とを含む画像撮影装置と、画像撮影装置から伝送される車番認識のための画像から車番を認識する車番認識制御装置とを有することを特徴とする。【選択図】図１
