READER AND CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the processing speed from lowering, while facilitating confirmation of transmission completion of image data.SOLUTION: A reader includes reading means for reading a sheet, feeding means for feeding a sheet to the reading means, discharge means for discharging the sheet read by the reading means, transmission means for transmitting the image data read by the reading means, and control means for controlling the discharge means to execute any one of first discharge operation or second discharge operation according to the state of the reading means.
