Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor core molten material holding device and a nuclear reactor containment vessel which are capable of much more stably cooling and holding reactor core molten materials.SOLUTION: A reactor core molten material holding device 15A, which is provided in a pedestal 12, and cools reactor core molten materials M resulting from melting of a reactor core 13 in a nuclear reactor pressure vessel 14 while retaining them on a holding surface 32, includes: a cooling passage 35 through which a coolant 25 passes so as to cool the reactor core molten materials M; first risers 34A, connected to a supply side of the coolant 25, of the cooling passage 35; and second risers 34B, connected to a discharge side of the coolant 25, of the cooling passage 35.
