Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium less likely to be contaminated by an environmental material even if the thickness of lubricant layer is thin, and a magnetic recording/producing apparatus comprising the magnetic recording medium.SOLUTION: There is provided a magnetic recording medium in which an outermost surface of a protective layer 3 on a lubricant layer 4 side contains carbon and nitrogen in the range of 50 atom% to 90 atom%, and the lubricant layer 4 is formed in contact with the outermost surface, contains compounds A-C in the following formulae (1)-(3), and has a film thickness of 0.5-2 nm.
