Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical combiner capable of reducing losses in an optical fiber.SOLUTION: An optical combiner 1 is formed such that excitation light optical fibers 10 and 10 for propagating excitation light therethrough and a signal light optical fiber 20 for propagating signal light therethrough are coupled and integrated into one bundle. First, the excitation light optical fibers 10 and 10 are drawn while being heated, so that part of the excitation light optical fibers 10 and 10 is reduced in diameter. Next, the signal light optical fiber 20 and the excitation light optical fibers 10 and 10 reduced in diameter are bundled to produce a fiber bundle. Then, the fiber bundle is drawn while being heated, so that part of the fiber bundle including the diameter-reduced portion of the excitation light optical fibers 10 and 10 is reduced in diameter.
