Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a power generation amount without increasing the size of a motor in a motor generator using an SR motor.SOLUTION: The motor generator 1 is a switched reluctance motor, and has a stator core 13 having a stator salient pole 16 and a stator 11 having a coil 14, and a rotor 21 rotatably disposed in the stator 11 and having a rotor core 23 having a rotor salient pole 25. An axial length Lr of the rotor core 23 is longer than an axial length Ls of the stator core 13 (Lr>Ls), and overhang portions 31 are formed at both axial end portions of the rotor core 23. An axial length X of the overhang portion 31 is shorter than a length H of an overhanging portion 18 of the coil 14 (X
