Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a lithium ion battery including nickel capable of enhancing processing performance and reducing cost by sufficiently dissolving metals such as cobalt in an exudate and reducing leach rate of nickel in an exudation process.SOLUTION: The method for processing a lithium ion battery is a method for processing the lithium ion battery containing cobalt and nickel and includes a heating process for heating the lithium ion battery and holding temperature of the lithium ion battery at 550°C to 650°C over 1 hour to 4 hours and an exudation process for adding a battery powder obtained after the heating process to an exudate containing sulfuric acid of 0.9 to 1.5 time molar equivalent needed for dissolving all metal components contained in the battery powder, setting a temperature of the exudate at 60°C to 80°C and leaching the battery powder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ニッケルを含むリチウムイオン電池を処理するに際し、浸出工程で、浸出液にコバルト等の金属は十分に溶解させる一方で、ニッケルの浸出率を低減することにより、処理能率を向上させるとともにコストを低減させることのできるリチウムイオン電池の処理方法を提供する。【解決手段】この発明のリチウムイオン電池の処理方法は、コバルトおよびニッケルを含むリチウムイオン電池を処理する方法であって、リチウムイオン電池を加熱し、リチウムイオン電池の温度を、1時間〜4時間にわたって550℃〜650℃に保持する加熱工程と、加熱工程後に得られる電池粉末を、該電池粉末に含まれる全金属成分を溶解するのに必要な0.9〜1.5倍モル当量の硫酸を含む浸出液に添加し、該浸出液を60℃〜80℃の温度として、前記電池粉末を浸出させる浸出工程とを含む。【選択図】図1
