STEERING DEVICE AND TOOTH MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which can stabilize engagement rigidity between teeth, in a constitution for regulating the elongation/contraction of a column jacket by the engagement of the teeth.SOLUTION: In a steering device 1, a pair of first tooth rows 60L which can integrally move together with an upper jacket 22 are composed of a plurality of first teeth 60 which have tooth lines 74 extending to an up-and-down direction Z, and are aligned in an axial direction at pitches P. A tooth member 63 which is molded by pressurization-molding includes a pair of second teeth 62 which extend in parallel with each other in a main body part 80 which is supported by a lower jacket 23, and arranged at a pair of side faces 85, respectively. A pair of the second teeth 62 are engaged with the first tooth rows 60L according to an operation of an operation member for regulating the elongation/contraction of a column jacket 4. Tooth tips 86 of a pair of the second teeth 62 are displaced from each other by a distance shorter than a prescribed pitch.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】歯同士の噛み合いによってコラムジャケットの伸縮を規制する構成において、歯同士の噛み合い強度の安定化を図ることができるステアリング装置を提供すること。【解決手段】ステアリング装置１では、アッパージャケット２２と一体移動可能な一対の第１歯列６０Ｌが、上下方向Ｚに延びる歯筋７４を有し軸方向ＸにピッチＰで並ぶ複数の第１歯６０によって構成されている。また、加圧成形により成形されたツース部材６３が、ロアージャケット２３によって支持された本体部８０において互いに平行に延びる一対の側面８５のそれぞれに設けられた一対の第２歯６２を含む。コラムジャケット４の伸縮を規制するための操作部材の操作に応じて、一対の第２歯６２が第１歯列６０Ｌに噛み合う。一対の第２歯６２は、歯先８６が所定のピッチよりも小さい距離だけ互いにずれている。【選択図】図４
