SHEET FEEDING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a recording medium from being transported from a sheet feeding device in a direction at an angle with respect to a transporting direction.SOLUTION: A sheet retaining pawl 47 extends, at a downstream side of a sheet container unit 44 in the transporting direction of a sheet, from one end side of the sheet in a width direction toward a location above the sheet contained in the sheet container unit 44 to restrict upward movement of the sheet. A sub-guide 46 is provided at the one end side of the sheet container unit 44 in the width direction and located upstream of the sheet retaining pawl 47 in the transporting direction of the sheet, the sub-guide pressing the sheet toward the other end of the sheet container unit to guide the transporting direction of the sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】記録材が搬送方向に対して傾いて給紙装置から搬送されることを抑制することを目的とする。【解決手段】用紙抑え爪４７は、用紙収容部４４の用紙搬送方向下流側において、幅方向の一方の端部側から、用紙収容部４４に収容された用紙の上部へ向かって延びて設けられ、用紙の上部への移動を規制する。サブガイド４６は、用紙収容部４４の幅方向の一方の端部側において、用紙抑え爪４７よりも用紙搬送方向上流側に設けられ、用紙を幅方向の他方の端部側へ押圧して用紙の搬送方向を案内する。【選択図】図２
