PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the driving speed of image carriers in a non-image forming period to vibrate a cleaning blade, and thereby dispersing paper powder accumulated on a blade edge and preventing paper powder from entering a space between the cleaning blade and image carriers.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: image carriers that form latent images; a cleaning blade that removes a developer remaining on surfaces of the image carriers; and means that counts the number of cumulative prints or the number of rotations of the image carriers.
