Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide active carbon in which selectivity to hydrogen cyanide (HCN) is increased, and a method for using the same.SOLUTION: Zinc oxide is impregnated into active carbon by performing immersion impregnation, atomization or soaking with an aqueous solution of a zinc salt only made of a zinc salt dissolved into water. In the active carbon produced by this method, the adsorption of the gas phase component of smoke is improved, and is useful for filtering smoke particularly in a smoking article.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】シアン化水素（ＨＣＮ）に対する選択性を高めた活性炭及びその使用方法の提供。【解決手段】水に溶解している亜鉛塩のみからなる亜鉛塩の水溶液にて浸漬含浸、噴霧、またはソーキングすることにより酸化亜鉛を活性炭に含浸する。この方法で作製した活性炭は、煙の気相成分の吸着が改良されており、特に喫煙品における煙をろ過するのに有益である。【選択図】図２
