Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for clearly visualizing a pulmonary nodule from a chest X-ray image.SOLUTION: A method of the invention comprises: a step S2 for creating a pulmonary nodule enhancement image from a chest X-ray image; a step S3 for creating a linear shadow enhancement image from the chest X-ray image; a step S4 for using a two-dimensional histogram in which the pulmonary nodule enhancement image is provided on a p-axis and the linear shadow enhancement image is provided on a q-axis, and a first extraction curve for extracting a pulmonary hilum lung blood vessel shadow as a linear shadow, from the pulmonary nodule enhancement image; a step S5 for on the basis of the pulmonary nodule enhancement image and an image obtained by applying a maximum value filter to the pulmonary nodule enhancement image, suppressing a luminance value of the pulmonary hilum lung blood vessel shadow thereby creating a linear shadow suppression image; a step S6 for extracting a false positive shadow by using the above-mentioned two-dimensional histogram and a second extraction curve; and a step S7 for repeating the step for extracting the false positive shadow until a total pixel number of the false positive shadow exceeds a predetermined threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】胸部X線画像から、肺結節を明瞭に描出する方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の方法は、胸部X線画像から肺結節強調画像を作成する段階S2と、胸部X線画像から線状陰影強調画像を作成する段階S3と、p軸に肺結節強調画像とq軸に線状陰影強調画像を取る2次元ヒストグラムと第1の抽出曲線を用いて肺結節強調画像から肺門部肺血管陰影を線状陰影として抽出する段階S4と、肺結節強調画像と肺結節強調画像に最大値フィルタを適用した画像とに基づいて、肺門部肺血管陰影の輝度値を抑制することにより、線状陰影抑制画像を作成する段階S5と、上記の2次元ヒストグラムと第2の抽出曲線を用いて、偽陽性陰影を抽出する段階S6と、偽陽性陰影の総画素数が予め決定された閾値を上回るまで、偽陽性陰影を抽出する段階を繰り返す段階S7と、を備える。【選択図】図1
