Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downsized and cost-reduced motor drive device capable of surely protecting an initial charge part that is used for initial charge of a smoothing capacitor provided in a DC link.SOLUTION: A motor drive device 1 comprises: a rectifier circuit 11 which rectifies an AC current and outputs a DC current to the DC link; an inverter part 12 which converts the DC current from the rectifier circuit 11 and supplies an AC current to a motor; an initial charge part 13 for initially charging a smoothing capacitor 21 provided in the DC link with the DC current that flows via a charging resistor 23 by opening a switch 22; a storage part 14 for storing load tolerance of the charging resistor 22; a power calculation part 15 for calculating a power quantity that is generated in the charging resistor 23 by the flow of the DC current; and a switching part 16 which cuts off inflow of the DC current to the smoothing capacitor 21 when the calculated power quantity reaches the load tolerance during an initial charge period, and causes the DC current to flow into the smoothing capacitor 21 when the calculated power quantity becomes equal to or less than a predetermined threshold value after cut-off.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】DCリンクに設けられた平滑コンデンサの初期充電に用いられる初期充電部を確実に保護できる小型で低コストのモータ駆動装置を実現する。【解決手段】モータ駆動装置1は、交流電流を整流してDCリンクに直流電流を出力する整流回路11と、整流回路11からの直流電流を変換してモータに交流電流を供給するインバータ部12と、スイッチ22が開放されて充電抵抗23を介して流れる直流電流により、DCリンクに設けられた平滑コンデンサ21を初期充電する初期充電部13と、充電抵抗22の負荷耐量を記憶する記憶部14と、直流電流が流れることにより充電抵抗23で発生する電力量を算出する電力算出部15と、初期充電期間中、算出された電力量が負荷耐量に達した場合は直流電流の平滑コンデンサ21への流入を遮断し、遮断後、算出された電力量が所定の閾値以下になった場合は直流電流を平滑コンデンサ21に流入させる開閉部16とを備える。【選択図】図1
