Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head which inhibits wear of a protection part covering a heating resistor.SOLUTION: A thermal head 100 sandwiches a printing medium with a platen roller and includes: a heating resistor 105 provided on an insulation substrate 101; a protection part 161 covering the heating resistor; and support parts 162 which support the platen roller through the printing medium at positions spaced apart from the heating resistor in a printing medium conveyance direction. Steps t1 and t2 between top parts of the support parts and a top part of the protection part are set so as to be smaller than 15 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】発熱抵抗体を覆う保護部の摩耗を抑制することができるサーマルヘッドを提供する。【解決手段】サーマルヘッド１００は、印刷媒体をプラテンローラとで挟持するサーマルヘッドであって、絶縁基板１０１上に設けられた発熱抵抗体１０５と、発熱抵抗体を覆う保護部１６１と、発熱抵抗体から印刷媒体の搬送方向に離れた位置で、印刷媒体を介してプラテンローラを支持する支持部１６２とを備え、支持部の頂部と保護部の頂部との段差ｔ１,ｔ２は１５μｍ未満とする。【選択図】図３
