PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desktop cutter capable of surely returning a sub-cover to an initial position, when rocking a cutting part so as to separate from a base part.SOLUTION: A cutting part 11 is journaled to a circular saw part holder 7 via a shaft 10. A circular saw blade 18 is rotatably supported by the cutting part 11. The cutting part 11 comprises a saw cover 11b for covering the upper outer periphery of the circular saw blade 18, a protective cover 28 and a sub-cover 40 for covering the lower outer periphery of the circular saw blade 18. A hinge arm 43 is fixed to the circular saw part holder 7 by screw-fastening. The tip of the hinge arm 43 is provided with an arm pin 44 engageable with the sub-cover 40. The arm pin 44 is positioned on a rotary range of the sub-cover 40. When a malfunction of the sub-cover 40 is caused, the arm pin 44 abuts on the sub-cover 40, and forcedly returns the sub-cover 40 to an original position in the middle when the cutting part 11 returns to an upper limit position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】切断部をベース部から離間するように揺動させたときにサブカバーを確実に初期位置に戻すことの可能な卓上切断機を提供する。【解決手段】丸鋸部ホルダ７には、シャフト１０を介して切断部１１が軸支される。切断部１１には、丸鋸刃１８が回転自在に支持される。切断部１１は、丸鋸刃１８の上部外周を覆うソーカバー１１ｂと、丸鋸刃１８の下部外周を覆う保護カバー２８及びサブカバー４０とを有する。丸鋸部ホルダ７には、ヒンジアーム４３がネジ止め等により固定される。ヒンジアーム４３の先端には、サブカバー４０と係合し得るアームピン４４が設けられる。アームピン４４は、サブカバー４０の回動範囲上に位置する。サブカバー４０の動作不良が生じた場合には、切断部１１が上限位置へ復帰する途中で、アームピン４４がサブカバー４０と当接してサブカバー４０を強制的に元の位置に戻す。【選択図】図５
