PAPER FEEDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of properly adjusting separating pressure in accordance with a remaining quantity of sheets.SOLUTION: A paper feeding device comprises: a separating pressure adjustment mechanism for adjusting pressure generated between a separating plate 46 and a paper feeding roller 42 as separating pressure; an error detection sensor for detecting a paper feeding error; and a sheet remaining quantity detection mechanism 400 for detecting a remaining quantity of sheets loaded on the paper feeding plate 14. When a paper feeding error is detected, the paper feeding device adjusts separating pressure according to the type of the paper feeding error, acquires a sheet remaining quantity at that time from the sheet remaining quantity detection mechanism, and stores the remaining amount in association with a separating pressure adjustment content. Then, if the sheet remaining quantity during feeding matches the stored sheet remaining quantity, the paper feeding device adjusts the separating pressure on the basis of the adjustment content of the separating pressure adjustment stored in association with the sheet remaining quantity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】 用紙の残量に応じてサバキ圧を適正に調整可能な給紙装置を提供する。【解決手段】ある態様の給紙装置は、サバキ板４６と給紙ローラ４２との間に生じる圧力をサバキ圧として調整するサバキ圧調整機構と、給紙エラーを検知するエラー検知センサと、給紙板１４に積載された用紙の残量を検知する用紙残量検知機構４００とを有する。給紙エラーが検知されたとき、その給紙エラーの種類に応じてサバキ圧を調整するとともに、その時の用紙残量を用紙残量検知機構から取得して、サバキ圧調整内容と関連付けて記憶する。その後、給紙中の用紙残量が、記憶されている用紙残量と一致したとき、その用紙残量と関連付けて記憶されているサバキ圧調整の調整内容に基づいてサバキ圧を調整する。【選択図】図７
