PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of accurately achieving an exhaust gas state in correspondence with an operation state during regeneration operation of an exhaust emission control device.SOLUTION: A DPF 45 for purifying exhaust gas is provided in an engine 100. The engine 100 performs regeneration operation for removing PM captured by the DPF 45. The engine 100 includes an engine body 10, an exhaust valve 43, an ECU 90, and an operation state detecting section (an engine speed detecting section 71 and a fuel injection amount detecting section 72). The DPF 45 is arranged in the engine body 10. The exhaust valve 43 is disposed in an exhaust passage of the engine body 10, and can be adjusted to an optional opening. The ECU 90 can control the opening of the exhaust valve 43. The operation state detecting section detects an operation state including a fuel injection amount and engine speed of the engine body 10. The ECU 90 controls the opening of the exhaust valve 43 in correspondence with the detection result of the operation state detecting section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】排気ガス浄化装置の再生動作時において、運転状態に応じた排気ガスの状態を精度良く実現できるエンジンを提供する。【解決手段】エンジン１００には、排気ガスを浄化するＤＰＦ４５が設けられる。また、エンジン１００は、ＤＰＦ４５に捕集されたＰＭを除去する再生動作を行う。エンジン１００は、エンジン本体１０と、排気弁４３と、ＥＣＵ９０と、運転状態検知部（回転速度検知部７１及び燃料噴射量検知部７２）と、を備える。エンジン本体１０には、ＤＰＦ４５が配置される。排気弁４３は、エンジン本体１０の排気通路に設けられ、任意の開度に調整可能である。ＥＣＵ９０は、排気弁４３の開度を制御可能である。運転状態検知部は、エンジン本体１０の燃料噴射量及び回転速度を含む運転状態を検知する。ＥＣＵ９０は、運転状態検知部の検知結果に対応して排気弁４３の開度を制御する。【選択図】図１
