Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a highly accurate sheet transport by reducing friction that can occur on the rear side of a transport belt in a sheet transport device that transports a sheet while being sucked onto the belt.SOLUTION: A negative pressure generated in a suction chamber 204 is exerted through a transport belt 201 onto a sheet 102 so as to cause the sheet 102 to be sucked onto the transport belt 201. A plurality of belt surface holding rollers 205 are disposed in this configuration. This makes it possible to reduce friction between a rear surface of the transport belt and a suction mechanism, such as a suction chamber, when the transport belt 201 travels for transporting the sheet, even under application of an adsorption pressure as relatively strong as -8 kPa. This contributes to reducing cockling or the like, making it possible to hold the sheet flat and transport the sheet with high accuracy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】シートを搬送ベルトに吸着させて搬送するシート搬送装置においてベルトの裏側の起き得る摩擦を低減して高い精度のシート搬送を可能とする。【解決手段】吸引チャンバ204内に生じさせた負圧が搬送ベルト201を介してシート102に作用しシート102を搬送ベルト201に吸着させる。この構成において、ベルト面保持ローラ205を複数配置する。これにより、−8kPaという比較的強い吸着圧を作用させても、搬送ベルト201がシート搬送のために走行するときの、搬送ベルトの裏面と吸引チャンバなどの吸引機構との摩擦を小さくすることができる。その結果、コックリングなどが抑制されてシートを平坦に保つことができるとともに、高い精度でシート搬送を行うことができる。【選択図】図2
