PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide receiver which allows a user to switch the resolution easily, when video contents are broadcast with a plurality of different resolutions, and to provide a broadcast system, a reception method, and a program.SOLUTION: A receiver includes an extraction unit for extracting the additional information included in data broadcast, from data broadcast broadcasted in conjunction with the broadcast content of a video of the first resolution, when a broadcast content is broadcasted by a video of second resolution different from the first resolution, a judgement unit for judging whether or not the own device corresponds to the display of a video of second resolution, when the additional information is extracted by the extraction unit, and a control unit for controlling a display to display the display information capable of switching to a video of second resolution by user operation, when a judgement is made that the own device corresponds to the display of a video of second resolution by the judgement unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】複数の異なる解像度で映像コンテンツの放送が行われている場合に、ユーザが視聴する解像度を容易に切り替え可能とする受信装置、放送システム、受信方法、及びプログラムを提供する。【解決手段】受信装置は、第１の解像度の映像の放送コンテンツに連動して放送されるデータ放送から、当該放送コンテンツが第１の解像度とは異なる第２の解像度の映像で放送されている場合にデータ放送に含まれている付加情報を、抽出する抽出部と、抽出部により付加情報が抽出された場合、自装置が第２の解像度の映像の表示に対応しているか否かを判定する判定部と、判定部により第２の解像度の映像の表示に対応していると判定された場合、ユーザの操作により第２の解像度の映像の放送コンテンツへ切り替え可能な表示情報を、表示部に表示させる制御部と、を備える。【選択図】図１
