Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium battery which is small in internal resistance and capable of maintaining an adequate voltage until the end stage of discharge while avoiding the decrease in discharge capacity owing to the depletion of lithium and other problems.SOLUTION: A spiral type lithium battery 1a comprises: a belt-shaped electrode body 10 having a negative electrode 4 including lithium metal or a lithium alloy as a negative electrode active material and a positive electrode 3 opposed to the negative electrode through a separator 5; a nonaqueous organic electrolyte 30; and a bottomed cylindrical battery can 2 doubling as a negative electrode current collector, in which the belt-shaped electrode body in the state of being wound in its longitudinal direction and the nonaqueous organic electrolyte are enclosed hermetically. Supposing that a direction of extension of a cylinder axis 50 of the battery can is an up-and-down direction, the up-and-down direction makes a winding axis 50 of the electrode body; the belt-shaped electrode body is wound so that the winding axis makes the start of the winding, and the negative electrode is disposed on the outermost circumference. To the outer circumferential surface of the negative electrode, a conductor 40 continuing from the end of the winding to a region opposed to an inner face of the positive electrode on the side of the end of the winding in the longitudinal direction of the electrode body is stuck.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】リチウムが切れることによる放電容量の減少などの問題を回避しつつ、内部抵抗が小さく放電末期まで十分な電圧を維持できるリチウム電池を提供する。【解決手段】リチウム金属またはリチウム合金を負極活物質として含む負極4がセパレータ5を介して正極3と対向配置されてなる帯状の電極体10が長さ方向に巻回された状態で負極集電体を兼ねる有底筒状の電池缶2内に非水有機電解液30とともに密封されてなるスパイラル型リチウム電池1aであって、電池缶の筒軸50延長方向を上下方向として、電極体は上下方向を巻軸50とするとともに、当該巻軸を巻き始めとして最外周に負極が配置されるように巻回され、負極の外周面において、巻き終わりの端部から正極の巻き終わり側の内面と対面する領域まで、電極体の長さ方向に連続する導電体40が貼着されている。【選択図】 図4
