Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for hardening a substantially flat glass sheet, enabling a stable and straight glass sheet to be manufactured, the glass sheet being thin (a thickness is less than 6 mm, specifically less than 3 mm) and large (an area is larger than 0.5 m, specifically larger than 1 m).SOLUTION: In a device for hardening a glass sheet, the glass sheet is heated to a hardening temperature, and quenching is performed by blowing cooled air to both surfaces of the glass sheet. Quenching of a top surface and a bottom surface of both sides lanes of the glass sheet is performed earlier than quenching of the top surface and the bottom surface of a center lane of the glass sheet, or performed more effectively in early time of the quenching. Compression stress required for hardening in a desired degree is fixed in both surfaces of the side lane earlier than in both surfaces of the center lane. In order to achieve the mentioned operation, cooled air enclosures of upper and lower sides of the glass sheet have a sub-area with weakened cooling effect.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】実質的に平坦なガラスシートを焼入れする装置で、厚さが薄く、(厚さが6mm未満、特に3mm未満)、大きな(面積が0.5m2超、特に1m2超)のガラスシートが安定で真直に製造される方法の提供。【解決手段】ガラスシートが焼入れ温度まで加熱され、ガラスシートの両表面に冷却空気を吹付けることによってクエンチングが行われ、ガラスシートの両側部のレーンの上面及び底面のクエンチングが、ガラスシートの中央部レーンの上面及び底面のクエンチングよりも、より早く始められるか、或いは、クエンチングの初期には、より効果的に実行され、所望の程度の焼入れのために必要な圧縮応力が中央のレーンの両表面におけるより早く側部のレーンの両表面で定着され、その為に、ガラスシートの上下の冷却空気エンクロージャは、減弱された冷却効果を有するサブエリアを備えるガラスシートを焼入れする装置。【選択図】なし
