Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a whole of an apparatus and improve the degree of freedom of the configuration of the apparatus.SOLUTION: A paper sheet identification apparatus for conveying along a conveyance path a paper sheet inserted through an insertion port 21 and storing the paper sheet in a storage 61 comprises: a first prism 321 that allows light from a light emitting element 42a mounted on a substrate 42 to pass along a first light guide path 321c formed inside while once deflecting the light and outputting the light to a first conveyance path 31a in a manner orthogonal to the conveyance direction of a bank bill; a second prism 322 that allows the light from the first prism 321 to pass along a second light guide path 322c formed inside while twice deflecting the light and outputting the light to the first conveyance path 31a in a manner orthogonal to the conveyance direction of a bank bill; and a third prism 323 that allows the light from the second prism 322 to pass along the third light guide path 323c formed inside while once deflecting the light and outputting the light to a light receiving element 42b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】装置全体の小型化を図るとともに、装置構成の自由度を向上させること。【解決手段】挿入口21を通じて挿入された紙葉類を搬送路に沿って搬送させて収納庫61に収納する紙葉類識別装置であって、基板42に実装された発光素子42aからの光を内部に形成された第1導光路321cを通過させながら1回屈折させて第1搬送路31aに対し紙幣の搬送方向に直交する態様で出射させる第1プリズム321と、第1プリズム321からの光を内部に形成された第2導光路322cを通過させながら2回屈折させて第1搬送路31aに対し紙幣の搬送方向に直交する態様で出射させる第2プリズム322と、第2プリズム322からの光を内部に形成された第3導光路323cを通過させながら1回屈折させて受光素子42bに出射させる第3プリズム323を備えている。【選択図】図2
