REDUCTION GEAR AND ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction gear which improves torque efficiency of the reduction gear, which prevents wear of a worm and a worm wheel and which suppresses generation of rattle noise, and an electric power steering device which uses the reduction gear.SOLUTION: A reduction gear includes: a worm 11 and a worm wheel 12 which mesh with each other; a grease G for lubrication; and a housing 7 for accommodating the worm 11 and the worm wheel 12. In the housing 7, it includes a substantially cylindrical internal space B disposed with an interval in a radial direction between itself and an outer periphery of the worm wheel 12. A grease accumulation part 7d is formed which is recessed in a lower part direction in the gravity direction than the internal space B, and on both sides in the circumferential direction, labyrinth seals 7e, 7f are formed between the worm wheel 12 and the housing 7, and a part of the worm wheel 12 is immersed in the grease G of the grease accumulation part 7d, and a part of the grease G attached to the worm wheel 12 is scraped off by the labyrinth seals 7e, 7f.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】減速機のトルク効率を向上し、ウォームおよびウォームホイールの摩耗を防止して、ラトル音の発生を抑制した減速機およびその減速機を使用した電動パワーステアリング装置を提供する。【解決手段】互いに噛み合うウォーム１１およびウォームホイール１２と、潤滑するグリースＧと、ウォーム１１およびウォームホイール１２を収容するハウジング７とを備えるとともに、ハウジング７に、ウォームホイール１２の外周との間に径方向に間隔を隔てて配設される略円筒状の内部空間Ｂを備え、内部空間Ｂより重力方向下部方向に凹んだグリース溜まり部７ｄを形成し、その円周方向両側にウォームホイール１２およびハウジング７間でラビリンスシール７ｅ、７ｆを形成し、ウォームホイール１２の一部をグリース溜まり部７ｂのグリースＧに浸漬するとともに、ウォームホイール１２に付着した一部のグリースＧをラビリンスシール７ｅ、７ｆで掻き落とすようにした。【選択図】図２
