Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled vacuum cleaner that can grasp a distance to an obstacle, etc., self-travel without colliding with the obstacle, etc., and perform cleaning without needing an installation of a special facility in a room beforehand.SOLUTION: A self-propelled vacuum cleaner includes: a body; moving means for moving the body with respect to a surface to be cleaned; steering means for changing a moving direction of the body by the moving means with respect to the surface to be cleaned; cleaning means for cleaning the surface to be cleaned; imaging means provided to the body for imaging a situation around the body as an image; obstacle recognition means for recognizing an obstacle that interferes with the movement of the body by the moving means from the image taken by the imaging means; distance calculation means for calculating a distance from the body to the obstacle recognized by the obstacle recognition means using the image taken by the imaging means; and body control means for controlling the moving means, the steering means, and the cleaning means using the distance to the obstacle calculated by the distance calculation means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】予め部屋内に特別な設備を設置する必要なく、自走式掃除機が障害物等までの距離を把握し障害物等に衝突することなく自走して清掃することができる自走式掃除機を提供する。【解決手段】自走式掃除機において、本体と、本体を被清掃面に対し移動させる移動手段と、移動手段による本体の被清掃面に対する移動方向を変更する操舵手段と、被清掃面を清掃する清掃手段と、本体に設けられ、本体の周囲の状況を画像として撮影する撮影手段と、撮影手段により撮影された画像から、本体の移動手段による移動の妨げとなる障害物を認識する障害物認識手段と、撮影手段により撮影された画像を用いて、本体から障害物認識手段により認識された障害物までの距離を算出する距離算出手段と、距離算出手段により算出された障害物までの距離を用いて、移動手段、操舵手段及び清掃手段を制御する本体制御手段と、を備える。【選択図】図7
