PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead acid battery preventing a dendrite short circuit occurring at an upper side part of a separator.SOLUTION: A lead acid battery includes an electrode plate group in which a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate are disposed with a sheet-like separator 1 interposed therebetween. The thickness of the separator at an upper side part is thinner than the thickness of the separator at a lower side part.
