Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for friction stir welding which is capable of promoting temperature rise of material to be welded during welding, performing the friction stir welding in a short time while a coating layer has excellent heat insulation, excellent oxidation resistance, and excellent wear resistance.SOLUTION: A tool for friction stir welding includes base material and a coating layer formed on the base material. The coating layer consists of two or more layers, and the entire coating layer has thermal permeability of 8000 J/smK or less. At least one layer out of the coating layers contains a hexagonal crystal system and/or amorphous. At least one layer out of the coating layers contains a cubic crystal system, and the coating layer has compressive stress.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】接合時において被接合材の昇温を促進し、短時間で摩擦撹拌接合ができるとともに、被覆層が断熱性に優れ、かつ耐酸化性および耐摩耗性に優れる摩擦攪拌接合用ツールを提供する。【解決手段】本発明の摩擦攪拌接合用ツールは、基材と、該基材上に形成された被覆層とを含むものであって、該被覆層は、2以上の層からなり、かつ被覆層全体として8000J/s0.5・m2・K以下の熱浸透率を有し、被覆層のうちの少なくとも一層は、六方晶型結晶系および/または非晶質を含み、被覆層のうちの少なくとも一層は、立方晶型結晶系を含み、被覆層は、圧縮応力を有することを特徴とする。【選択図】図2
