Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide plated steel wire that can prevent contamination due to algae or shellfish adhering on a fish preserve net at low cost and for a long term in aquaculture in the ocean, and a wire mesh manufactured from the plated steel wire.SOLUTION: A plated steel wire is characterized by containing Cu characterized in that an area index of an area of 10% or more is 2% or more and 35% or less in Cu mass% in a molten zinc plated layer containing Fe of 2% or less, and a wire mesh is manufactured from the plated steel wire. Preferably, the zinc plated layer may further contain Al of 60% or less, or Al of 20% or less and Mg of 5% of less. As a result, a Cu ion of an appropriate amount in addition to a Zn ion is eluted to the vicinity of the mesh, and the adherence of algae or shellfish to an aquaculture mesh can be prevented for a long term.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】海洋での養殖において、生簀網に付着する海藻、貝類による汚染を安価で、長期間にわたって防止することのできるめっき鋼線及びそのめっき鋼線から製造した金網を提供する。【解決手段】Fe:2%以下である溶融亜鉛めっき層に、Cu質量%で10%以上の領域の面積指数が2%以上、35%以内であることを特徴とするCuをめっき層に含有することを特徴とするめっき鋼線及びそのめっき鋼線から製造した金網である。亜鉛めっき層はさらに、Al:60%以下、又はAl:20%以下、Mg:5%以下を含有しても良い。これにより、Znイオンに加えて適量のCuイオンを網近傍へ溶出させ、藻、貝類の養殖網への付着を、長期間にわたり抑制することが可能となる。【選択図】図1
