Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a coolant temperature correctly in a level high-altitude travel.SOLUTION: A control apparatus for a vehicular internal combustion engine with a water-cooled cooling system includes respective means for: setting a destination of a vehicular travel; obtaining information of an altitude of a route bound for the destination; and setting a target coolant temperature at a coolant temperature target value for a high-altitude travel, the value lower than in the case of a route bound for a destination including no high-altitude travel. This configuration suppresses a rise in a coolant temperature in a high-altitude travel including a flat road. 【課題】平坦な高地走行において冷却水温を適正に維持する。【解決手段】水冷式の冷却システムを備える車両用内燃機関の制御装置は、車両の走行の目的地を設定する手段と、目的地に至る経路の高度情報を取得する手段と、冷却システムの目標水温を目的地に至る経路に高地走行が含まれない場合より低い高地走行用の冷却水温目標値に設定する手段と、を備えることで、平坦地を含む高地走行における冷却水温の上昇を抑制する。【選択図】図2
