Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power tool which can change a rotation speed of a motor by a member different from a trigger switch, and is excellent in workability.SOLUTION: An electric power tool comprises a housing, a motor accommodated in the housing, a work part for performing processing work by the drive of the motor; an operated part provided in the housing and operated manually; control means for controlling the motor; first detection means for outputting an operated position of the operated part as first information; and second detection means for outputting second information which shows whether or not the operated position is in a predetermined region. The control means controls the motor by setting the motor in either a first drive mode which controls the motor to rotate at a rotation speed according to the operated position on the basis of the first information and the second information, or a second drive mode which controls the motor to rotate at a first rotation speed when the work part is in a working state, and controls the motor to rotate at a second rotation speed lower than the first rotation speed when the work part is not in the working state. 【課題】トリガスイッチとは異なる部材によりモータの回転数を変更可能とし、作業性を良好とした電動工具の提供。【解決手段】ハウジングと、ハウジングに収容されたモータと、モータの駆動により加工作業を行う作業部と、ハウジングに設けられた手動操作可能な被操作部と、モータを制御する制御手段と、を備える電動工具であって、被操作部の被操作位置を第1情報として出力する第1検出手段と、被操作位置が所定の領域内であるか否かを示す第2情報を出力する第2検出手段と、を更に備え、制御手段は、第1情報及び第2情報に基づいて、モータを被操作位置に応じた回転数で回転するよう制御する第1駆動モードと、作業部が作業状態である場合はモータを第1回転数で回転するよう制御し作業部が作業状態でない場合はモータを第1回転数よりも低い第2回転数で回転するよう制御する第2駆動モードと、のいずれかに設定し、モータを制御する【選択図】図8
